On Wednesday evening near the campus, the attack began with a large explosion that targeted the elite American University of Afganistan in Kabul. Seven students, three police officers and two security guards were killed in the attack, said by "Abdul Rahman Rahimi" (Kabul police chief). On Thursday he said 35 students and 9 police officers were also injured in the attack. He also added 750 students were evacuated from the building.
